GETTING ALONG AS A VISITOR

Food & Beverages
Our delicious meals combine a perfect balance of Halong Bay specialty fresh seafood and traditional Vietnamese dishes. If you are allergic to seafood or have any dietary requests, please inform us in advance for better preparation.
Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are available to purchase throughout the day and evening. We
also provide complimentary 02 bottles of water that are placed in your cabin; additional bottles are available for purchase.
Bring outside food onboard:  If you bring some food onboard, you need to declare to the cruise manager before boarding. Some types of food may not allow bringing in.  The cruise company is not responsible for any trouble such as food poisoned, stomach upset or diarrhea caused by your food
Bring outside drink onboard If you bring some alcoholic drink or soft drink onboard, the corkage charge will be applied no matter what you drink them in your room or in the restaurant. The general corkage fees for soft drink and beer is 01 USD /can or bottle, 10 USD for the bottle of wine and 20 USD for the bottle of whiskey, spirit or cognac
Extra fresh seafood  If you want to have alive seafood, you can buy it at the market or some times at the floating villages or from the fisherman. Our chef will cook for you as you wish without charge. You may have to pay for additional ingredients such as beer or tamarind sauce. Tipping for the chef from 3USD to 05 USD if you feel happy with your food is recommended

Accommodations
Our cabins are equipped with private western-style bathrooms, hot water, air-conditioning

Using Resources
Electricity:  Electricity on the boat is generated by a diesel combustion engine, thus it's exhaust CO2 to the air and pollute the environment, the amount of CO2 ratio with the electricity you use. So be responsible by turning off aircon, light... when you are not using
Freshwater:  Freshwater is valuable to everyone on earth, especially freshwater onboard is limited. Please save water when using and make sure you turn off the tap or shower completely when you finish using it. 

Money and Currency Exchange
Currency in Vietnam is the Vietnamese dong (d, or VND)
All international currency, with the exception of US dollars, must be changed into the local currency, the Vietnamese dong. It is a good idea to bring newer dated currency that has no rips, marks, folds, or holes. Check the exchange rates at

Credit cards (Visa or MasterCard, JCB) are accepted but may incur surcharges of 03%. American Express also accepted but may incur surcharges of 04%

Tipping
Tipping is a personal matter, and passengers are encouraged to tip an amount they find appropriate. For your convenience, we've included a tipping guide below for your travels in Vietnam.  
Meals (restaurants): The average amount is 01USD 
Guides & drivers: As a general guide on group tours, please allow 02USD to 05USD per day per

traveler for each of your local guides and 01USD to 02USD per day per traveler for each of your local drivers.  For the private tour, the general tipping is 05USD to 10USD per day per traveler for the local guide and 03USD to 05USD per day per traveler for the driver. Of course, you are free to tip more or less as you see fit, depending on your perception of service quality, your group size and the length of your trip.   
Bellboy:
 it's up to you, the average amount is 1USD per bag or luggage.  
Chambermaid:  It'
s up to you, the average amount is 1USD per day.
Tipping 5USD per service, to people such as a boat captain or a helpful bellman, is appropriate
                         
Drugs & Emergency Services
Medicine onboard is limited to some common illnesses such as influenza and headache (Paracetamol), pain killer (Efferalgant), stomach upset or seasickness.
First aid kit is available but limited to some
gauze dressings, alcohol and non-alcohol cleaning, sticky tapes. scissors, thermometer
Emergency services and care for major medical illnesses may be limited.  Prevention of injury is always the best policy.  Your guide and the Cruise Manager will advise you in the case of urgent medical needs during your tour.  In an emergency case, the patient needs to be transferred to the nearest hospital on land. He/She needs to hire a speed boat to the harbor then an ambulance to the hospital. It takes approximately 1.5 hours for sea and land transfer
